Michael Jackson glove sells for $190K
Vegas auction expected to bring in over $1 million

June 27, 2010, 12:26 PM ET
LAS VEGAS -- Bidders from around the world bought up
Michael Jackson memorabilia worth nearly $1 million
at an auction on the anniversary of his death,
including $190,000 for the Swarovski-crystal-studded
glove he wore on his 1984 Victory Tour.
The bidding that began Friday on more than 200 items was
"unlike anything we've ever experienced," said Darren
Julien of Julien's Auctions, which ran the auction at
Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.

Some items, like the glove, brought 10 times more
than their estimated value, he said.
"It just shows you Michael Jackson is the most sought
after and most collectible celebrity of all time.
It was just phenomenal," Julien told the Las Vegas
Review-Journal.

One of the last autographs Jackson signed,
and dated June 24, 2009,in his handwriting,
went for $21,000.

"People flew in from Asia, Russia, all over.
Now that he's gone, we now realize the true legend we lost,"
said Julien, who has not had a similar auction in his 15 years
in the business. He predicted the sales would easily top $1
million by the time the auction wrapped up Sunday.
The glove had been expected to sell for between $20,000
and $30,000.The $190,000 sale price included the buyer's
premium of $30,000,a standard industry fee that goes to
the auction house, Julien said.

The winning bidder was Wanda Kelley of Los Angeles,
who also bought a number of Jackson's albums at the
auction, the Las Vegas Sun reported. She said she was
prepared to go higher if necessary.

"Let's just say I wasn't walking out of here without
that glove," she said.

" THESE ARE MY KEEP SAKE, THESE ARE MY TREASURES "

" THIS WAS TO BE HIS LEGACY TO HIS CHILDREN
AND THE LEGACY IS BEING SOLD OFF "

HONG KONG — The auction house that is putting Michael
Jackson's memorabilia under the hammer in Macau has
dismissed accusations that the sale goes against the singer's
wishes, a report said Sunday.

More than 100 items once used by Jackson - including a pair
of crystal-studded gloves and a set of Jackson 5 jumpsuits
-- will go on a sale by US-based Julien's Auctions in the
glitzy gambling haven of Macau in October 9.

But in an interview with British tabloid Daily Star
in August, Jackson's former lawyer, Brian Oxman, said
the late star had tried to stop the auction, and the
sale in Macau would be tantamount to selling off his
children's estate.

"This is an outrage. Back in May of 2009 there was to
be an auction. Michael demanded it was stopped.
He never wanted this material to be auctioned,"
Oxman was quoted as saying to the tabloid.

"He would be furious. He would be turning in his grave.
This was to be his legacy to his children, and the legacy
of his children is being sold off," he said in the report.

In response, Darren Julien, president and chief executive
of Julien's Auctions, told the South China Morning Post
that Oxman was "only seeking publicity" in levelling
accusations against the auction house.

None of the items are consigned to us by the estate of
Michael Jackson. The items come to us from some of
Michael Jackson's family members and friends who he gave
them to when he was alive," Julien told the Hong Kong
English daily.

"We would never and have never done anything that would
hurt them [the Jacksons] or that they would not be supportive
of Brian Oxman on the other hand is only concerned for himself,"
he told the Post.

"It's the best collection of Michael Jackson items that
we've ever assembled, and all come to us from his family
and from friends he gave them to," said Darren Julien,
chief executive of US-based Julien?s Auctions.

The items include a right-hand black crystal-studded glove,
a jacket Jackson wore during filming of a 1984 Pepsi commercial
in which he suffered serious burns in an accident, and white
cotton socks encrusted with clear crystals.

Also on display is an orange shirt he wore for the 1992 "Jam"
video session with basketball legend Michael Jordan and a
complete set of red-and-gold jumpsuits he and his siblings
-- collectively the Jackson 5 -- sported in the 1970s.

The exhibition continues in Tokyo until September 6
before travelling to Santiago, Chile. It then heads to
Macau for the auction of 115 items on October 9 at the
former Portuguese colony's Ponte 16 gaming resort.

Among some of the collection is :
Peter Pan drawing by Michael Jackson. Crayon on paper,
hand drawn and signed. Estimate: $8,000 - $10,000

JOE JACKSON'S DAY IN COURT GRANTED

APPEAL MADE ON JACKSON'S WILL: DAY IN COURT SET

Jackson family patriarch JOE JACKSON has been granted his
day in court to fight for a portion of his late son Michael's cash.

Michael Jackson's 2002 will stated that his estate should be
left in the hands of John Branca and John McClain in the event
of his death, but the singer's father has been keen to contest the
document since Jackson died last summer (Jun09).

He challenged the validity of the paperwork after it emerged
his son was in New York on the date he is said to have signed
the document in California

Joe Jackson subsequently took legal action to have Branca and
McClain disqualified, insisting his son's name was forged on
the will, and that his name should have been included in the
document.

On Thursday (02Sep10), a judge ruled that Joe Jackson's
case will be heard at the California Court of Appeal on
6 October (10).

" DEEP COVER " MAY 1992 LOS ANGELES

Its May 1992 " Deep Cover " Soundtrack was in the stores,
and the Dr. Dre Produced material that was Copyrighten to Sony
Records and Solar Ruthless Records had there attornies mail
letters that said Dre was signed to Ruthless and Sony's deal
with Dre was interfering with that. The Letters Also described
the violent means by which the releases were obtained, and
asked if Sony didnt think it strange that Eazy E recieved
nothing in return for releasing his artist.

"We told them that the releases were invalid" said Michael
Klein a scurity specialist hired by Jerry Heller. But they
then drew up a Deep Cover Contract.

We told Sony "Don't Put it out" but they did anyway.
" The whole Goal was to raid Rutheless Records asset's"

And while this may go on in the music business all the time
it doesnt make it lawful" Dre insisted that Eazy signed the
release papers becasue it was the right thing to do.
"Im not a gangster" he said. Rutheless included him in
the RICO claim it hoped to file against Suge, Solar and
Sony Music.

Through Wayne Smith, a partner at Gibson ,Dunn & Crutcher
Sony expressed their position: Dre was having a problem with
Eazy-E and Ruthless Records. Sony was interested in Signing
Dr. Dre. as a songwriter producer and artist. But Sony
didn't sign anything but a Publishing Deal because they felt
Dre wasn't free to enter any other agreement.

Sony's position was that they entered into Deals with
Dre believing that Dre was not prohibited from selling
publishing rights to his work as a freelance producer
due to a preexisiting contract with Ruthless Records.
If he was not free to do it Ruthless and Dre have a Breach
of Contract, said Smith. It turns out he did not have the
right to sell us what he sold us, then Ruthless had a breach
against Dre and Sony Has a breach of warranty against Dre.
But thats not a Rico suit or a conspiracy. According to Smith
Ruthless's attornies said the labels relatiuonship with Dre
was dead in December 1991. the Judge asked "Well if it was
dead in 1991, why are you complaining about anything that
happened in 1992?

They would reply " Holy Cow , we we just realized,
"Sony entered a Conspiracy in December 1991!"

This would be inserted in to the latest complaint!!!

They never thought we were going to sue said Ruthless
security specialist Michael Klein, they thought we would be
able to work something out, pay peanuts for what happened
and they would have Dr. Dre. was going to go with Sony
They had it all planned out...

They had the new Album scheduled to be released titled
The Chronic it was going to be a Sony release.
Not until we sued did they take it off the schedule
Then Sony said "this is getting alittle too deep for us
were going to have problems if we go ahead".
At that point Sony back out of the deal.

Griffey then gave Suge the ammunition he needed for a
take over. The Chronic was going to be a Death Row Records
release and Griffey had to go...Suge was now becoming the man.

" HAPPY BIRTHDAY MICHAEL JACKSON "

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MICHAEL JACKSON
Michael Joseph Jackson (August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009)

was an American recording artist, entertainer, and philanthropist.
Referred to as the King of Pop, Jackson is recognized as the most
successful entertainer of all time by Guinness World Records.
His contribution to music, dance and fashion, along with a much-
publicized personal life, made him a global figure in popular culture
for over four decades. The eighth child of the Jackson family,
he debuted on the professional music scene along with his brothers
as a member of The Jackson 5 in the mid-1960s, and began his solo
career in 1971.

In the early 1980s, Jackson became a dominant figure in
popular music. The music videos for his songs including
"Beat It", "Billie Jean" and "Thriller", were credited with
transforming the medium into an art form and a promotional
tool, and the popularity of these videos helped to bring
the relatively new television channel MTV to fame.

And the Rest is HIStory..

" I HAVE A DREAM "

AUGUST 28, 1963 " I HAVE A DREAM "

"I Have a Dream" is the famous name given to the ten minute
public speech by Martin Luther King, Jr., in which he called
for racial equality and an end to discrimination.

King's delivery of the speech on August 28, 1963, from the
steps of the Lincoln Memorial during the March on Washington
for Jobs and Freedom, was a defining moment of the American
Civil Rights Movement.

Delivered to over 200,000 civil rights supporters the speech
is often considered to be one of the greatest and most notable
speeches in human history and was ranked the top American speech
of the 20th century by a 1999 poll of scholars of public address.

Today is the 47th anniversary of the historic “I Have a Dream”
speech by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. 47 years later, the
“restoring honor” rally is being celebrated at the Lincoln
Memorial, the exact same place in which the speech took place.
