Jackson's Life Insurance 'Pays Out $3 Million'
08 August 2009 14:12
MICHAEL JACKSON's estate has reportedly been
awarded a multi-million dollar pay-out after the late
singer's life insurance policy was settled.
John Branca and John MCClain, the temporary
administrators of Jackson's will, are said to have
cashed in the contract, winning $3 million (£2 million)
for the star's estate.
Initial reports indicated Jackson's policy was worth
up to $20 million (£13.3 million).
But according to gossip website TMZ.com, the
businessmen rushed to finalise the deal, accepting
just $3 million, over fears the life insurance firm would
refuse to pay if an autopsy report determined drugs
were the cause of death.

John Branca (above) and John McClain quietly
cashed in the policy -- reports it was worth upwards
of $20 million are simply not true.
It was a $3 million payout. And here's why it was
a swift move --
the coroner hasn't even released the autopsy report yet.
Somehow Branca and McClain convinced the insurance
company to ante up with lightening speed
-- and the estate is $3 million richer for it.

Michael Jackson Will Be Sued Over Jackson 5
Posted May 16th 2009 1:19PM by TMZ Staff
We've learned there was a secret meeting
yesterday at the Beverly Hills Hotel, where
Michael Jackson made it clear --
he will not perform with Janet and the
Jackson 5; and the dude who organized
the concert tour tells us he will sue them.
As we first reported, Jacko's manager signed
a deal on behalf of M.J. to perform with his
sis and bros at Cowboy Stadium in Arlington,
Texas in 2010. Part of the deal - that he not
sign any other concert deal for 18 months. But
then Jacko went and signed up for his London
concerts which are scheduled to begin in July.
The company that organized the family concert ---
AllGood Entertainment - got Michael, daddy Joe
Jackson and several others in a room yesterday
at the Bev Hills Hotel. Joe tried to convince
Michael that the family tour should go on, but
Michael wouldn't budge because it would have
aired on pay-per-view and M.J. said he doesn't
The meeting was heated and no one
agreed to anything.
Patrick Allocco of AllGood Entertainment
tells us he's going to sue Jackson and his
family next week.
UPDATE: Patrick Allocco has resubmitted his offer
for MJ to perform with the Jackson 5 and Janet
without the pay-per-view. For this one night event,
MJ would be paid $3million, Janet $1mil, and the
brothers would get $500,000 to split.
Allocco is making this his last and final offer.
If Jacko refuses, AllGood Entertainment will
proceed with suing him and his family.
Beverly Hills Hotel TMZ.com
The company that sued Michael Jackson for allegedly
torpedoing a family concert has just filed a $300,000,000
creditor's claim against MJ's estate.
AllGood Entertainment claims it had a deal with Jackson
to put on a Jackson family concert and alleges the deal
was broken when Jackson committed to the London series
of concerts. In the $300,000,000 federal lawsuit filed
in October 2009, AllGood was asking for profits from
"This Is It" along with revenues from the Sony catalog.
AllGood claims Michael Jackson and his agent, Frank Dileo,
"secretly teamed up with AEG [Live] to produce a concert
or series of concerts in London."
AllGood Entertainment filed the claim Friday.

AllGood Entertainment moves ahead with Michael Jackson lawsuit

Even after signing into the 50-date residency with
AEG Live, the suit alleges that Jackson personally reassured his interest in working with AllGood Entertainment upon completing his time in London.
However, "When pressed to commit on a date, Jackson and Dileo both reneged," said AllGood's attorney
Ira Meyerowitz,of the New York-based law firm Meyerowitz Jekielek PLLC, in a statement.
"This is a case where the little guy followed the rules and was pushed aside by industry giants AEG and the Jacksons for the promise of bigger money and movies," Meyerowitz continued.

I know, I know. I’m usually the guy who’s very Bullish
on the condition of the music business, but this is
one story even I cannot spin upward.
To save the beleaguered major label, EMI, its owner,
Guy Hands has about a month to come up with about
$150 Million to satisfy payroll and debts.
In real estate terms, Hands is upside down on his
house. He now owes more than he can sell the company
for and his bank, Citigroup, is forcing him to foreclose
rather than give him the chance to save the label that
controls such classic catalogs as the Beatles.
Knowing he can not find a buyer or come up with the
money, Citigroup’s unofficial but rather obvious plan
is to foreclose, at which point they get their hands
on the super valuable catalogs for dimes on the dollar.
Normally, when companies this size are in trouble
their creditors help out by restructuring the loans.
But not here. In this case Citigroup, has bitch-
slapped Hands and all but said, let it burn.
When your own investors want you to fail, there is
little hope of survival.
Historic music in the hands of bankers.
How did this happen? Could we have predicted it?

LOS ANGELES - Michael Jackson's father can receive
some medical records related to his superstar son's
death, a judge ruled Friday.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff
ruled that Joe Jackson can receive his son's medical
records from the hospital where he died. The judge
will review the records first before releasing them
to Joe Jackson's attorney, Brian Oxman. Beckloff
also said the men can only receive records generated
on or after June 25 — the day Michael Jackson died
at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.
Oxman sought the files as part of an effort to obtain
a monthly stipend for the Jackson family patriarch.
He said during a hearing last week that he also needs
the records to decide whether to pursue a wrongful
Beckloff's order states a medical expert hired by Joe
Jackson can review the files, but not copy them.
Anyone who sees the records will be required to sign
a confidentiality agreement, the ruling states.
Jackson's estate had sought to quash subpoenas that
Oxman issued for the files. Attorneys for the estate
argued during a hearing last week that Beckloff should
review the files first. They also stated the files
shouldn'tbe released until after the results of a May
hearing on Joe Jackson's stipend bid.
Oxman said he was pleased with the ruling and expects
to have the records soon.
Beckloff is going to verify the records do not violate
doctor-patient confidentiality. Oxman said he didn't
expect that to be an issue.
"We are very certain based on prior records that we
have from the paramedics that Michael was long
deceased and that there were no communications
(with doctors)," Oxman said.
He said Joe Jackson deserves to know more about
how his son died and the records will also be important
in his quest to receive an allowance of more than
$15,000 per month.
Howard Weitzman, an attorney for Jackson's estate,
said the ruling properly incorporates suggestions
attorneys raised last week.
"The estate feels the court's order adequately protects
Michael's interests," Weitzman said.

THE JACKSON STAKE IN SONY/ATV "IS NOT FOR SALE"
Will these words come back to haunt John Branca.
If it is true that Mottola, along with others worked
to set up Jackson to bring him down, would they go as far
as cohearsing w/ those closest to Michael, even those now
running the MJ estate to take all from Michael Jackson.
Do you think that could happen?? Well it's happening.
WHY DID BRANCA NOT TAKE HEED TO JACKSON'S REQUEST HE WAS DEMANDED TO RESIGN OF HIS DUTIES BY MICHAEL JACKSON BACK IN 2003.
Michael Jackson Terminated John Branca because of Embezzlement. In 2003, Michael Jackson launched an investigation into Branca’s embezzlement activities regarding Micheal Jackson’s money.
The investigators, the firm of Interfor in New York,

April 15, 2003, there was an improper relationship between
Tommy Mattola and John Branca whereby Branca and Motolla
were illegally funneling Michael Jackson’s money to off-shore

JACKSON ASSETS DRAW THE GAZE OF WALL STREET

Howard Stringer, top, Sony’s chief, and Thomas J.
Barrack Jr., the head of Colony Capital, had deals
with Michael Jackson. A handful of major financial firms have made inquiries into buying the Jackson estate’s 50 % share of Sony/ATV Music Publishing, the company that controls most of the Beatles song catalog, according to people briefed on the matter. Among them are Colony Capital, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts, Plainfield Asset Management and the media mogul Haim Saban, these people said.
Sony/ATV is by far the most valuable asset in
Mr. Jackson’s estate, and his 50 percent stake
could be worth as much a $500 million. Mr. Jackson
bought the majority of the Beatles catalog in 1985
for $47.5 million, after an informal chat with Paul
McCartney about the wisdom of buying song catalogs.
Since then, Sony/ATV -formed from a 1995 partnership
with Sony — has bought up the rights to thousands of
songs from artists, including Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell,
Beck and Taylor Swift. In recent years, it made a big
push into TV production, helping to balance out its
“Sony/ATV’s really started to gain greater value in
recent years,” said Barry Massarsky, a music industry
consultant who has done work for Sony/ATV and its rivals.
“I’m very bullish on its prospects.”
John G. Branca, the entertainment lawyer who structured
Mr. Jackson’s initial purchase of the Beatles catalog
and is now one of two executors of his estate, declined
to comment by e-mail on Sunday, saying only that the
Jackson stake in Sony/ATV “is not for sale.”
Mr. Branca and John McClain, a music executive,
will make decisions about the estate, now even without
preeceding before a judge from the Feb 3rd hearing the judge
approved their demand ...10% and the ability to green light deals w/out the courts approval on behalf of the estate.
WHAT IS BECOMING OF THE MICHAEL JACKSON ESTATE?? WILL WEITZMAN/BRANCA TAKE ALL???
By PT Barnum
Barnum knew the power of mystery.
An unemployed man came to his museum and asked
Barnum for a job. Barnum handed the man five bricks
and instructed him to solemnly place the bricks in various
places around the outside of the museum. As he went from
spot to spot, he was to replace the brick at each spot with
another one that he was carrying. He was to answer no
questions, speak to no one, and seem to be deaf and dumb.
Once an hour, he was to enterthe museum, walk right next
to the ticket taker, seem to pay the fee, and then proceed
through the museum and out the door. A crowd began to
form, watching the man and wondering what he was doing.
Many of the crowds followed him into the museum just to
see what was going on. In fact, the police had to ask Barnum
to stop the man, because the crowds that he was creating
were stopping traffic.
